(Newark, Ohio) The Community Mental Health and Recovery Board of Licking and Knox Counties (CMHRB) annual meeting was held on November 19th honoring individuals who have made a difference in the lives of Licking and Knox County residents.
Cyril G. Ransopher Vision Award – Pataskala Mayor Steve Butcher and Mr. Eschol Curl, State Farm Insurance
The Cyril G. Ransopher Vision Award is given to an individual or an organization in Knox or Licking County whose vision and commitment has supported recovery and resiliency and has resulted in the development or delivery and/or contributed to the heightened awareness of community-based behavioral health services to individuals and families challenged by mental health or addiction issues.
CMHRB Board Chair Jesse Marlow commented. "Mayor Butcher pulled together groups from diverse cross sections in the community that are working to find solutions to serious community issues, including increased drug usage and deaths from suicide in western Licking County. He has challenged all participants to work together to better define the problem and to develop new education and interdiction programs that address these serious problems.
Mr. Curl is responsible for changing the culture at State Farm with respect to employee wellness and mental health. Beyond the traditional employee benefits, State Farm provides a clear mental health component with information on depression, anxiety disorders and recovery services. They provide employees with the skills to better manage their lives. State Farm is a community role model for investing in the overall well-being of their personnel and a valuable partner in promoting whole-body wellness."
